Realism

Realism is extremely difficult to achieve and there are various and vast aspects that are culminated together to produce a realistic piece of work, weather it be 2D or 3D.
In order for an individual to develop work that is realistic they must consider measurements, lightning, context of the building, materials and much more. This makes realism a very difficult thing to obtain yet a crucial aspect of projects in the industry today. Weather its simulators for armed forces training, industrial engineering simulators, architectural 2D images and 3D real time environments, criminal investigation software, CGI aspects of movies and interactive games

Within my assignment on the production of a replica of Town Hall train station all elements of realism can be established but with my limited experience in the real time environment software I have decided to focus on one particular aspect of realism within my model. This will be my material. I choose this because in my opinion it is the most obvious way to make an environment that can be recognized easily as Town Hall. An experienced eye can tell the errors or inconsistencies in a model such as shadows facing the wrong direction, areas that are a meter shorter then they should be and models with some vertexes out of place however to the inexperienced eye a models that measurement wise is fairly close and has materials that are very good will result in the person being fairly convinced with the project. This compared to perfectly lighting will make the project more recognizable as town hall.
